A Day in the Pandemic Life
Forgive me for rewriting the Beatles, “A Day in the Life:”

I searched the news today; oh boy
In the hope of a loving story
About a selfless man who made the grade
But the news was painfully sad
Well, I just had to cry
When I saw the photograph

They blew their minds out in a rage
They didn’t notice everyone’s rights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
Their anger danced among the flame
Nobody was really sure if he was in the right
No one cared and wanted to fight

I saw a film today, oh boy
Adams decided the fate of our country
But the crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book
I’d love to see the flag fly

Woke up, fell out of bed
The bullets flew above my head
Found my way downstairs and grabbed a gun
And looking up, I noticed it was fate
Everyone is full of hate
I cleared the fence in seconds flat
Jesus spoke, and I went into a dream

I read the news today; oh boy
Three million souls lost to date
And though the souls were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many souls it takes
To change the world into a lonely place
I’d love to turn God’s goodness on

I saw the news today; oh man
All the hypocrites line the Capitol Crown
Do what I tell, not what I do
You don’t need a God
For I will take care of you

I read the book today; oh Lord
It is filled with Hope amongst the flames
He has a plan for us
A plan to prosper us, not to harm us
The world can burn but will not harm us
I read a book today.

A quote from Hebrews on a beach in Hawaii

Hau Bush Beach Hebrews Morning

I am sure “The Lonely Hearts Club Band” would disapprove of my rewrite, but it struck me that the world is filled with news of hate and destruction. Power-mad billionaires in need of making everything their way. Politicians drunk with power and full of “My way, or the Highway!” Fear mongers peddling doom—don’t believe the news today. Rest in the promise of the gospels—read the word—it’s the good news we all have searched for.

A morning’s thought on life. The times they are a-changing, even the church has gone astray.
